Join fellow Dames at Cathy’s home, Boxwood Cottage, in The Plains (near Middleburg)
for lunch and a stroll through a beautiful garden. Arrive as early as 11 a.m. to sit on the
porch to relax, mingle, and enjoy some light nibbles. Lunch will be served at noon.

After lunch, we have been invited to visit a neighbor’s garden. Just down the road,
Austin Weatherford and Riley Berg have a stunning property and gardens with a
beautiful view of the Bull Run Mountains. We will drive (about 3 minutes away) to their
house. Be sure to bring your walking shoes. The stroll through their garden will not be
strenuous but there are pea gravel walkways and a few steps. This will be a lovely way
to get inspired and stretch our legs after lunch before driving home.

Depending on traffic, travel time from DC is one to one and a half hours. Toll lanes work
very well but do come with a cost.

Take Interstate 66 West to Exit 31 - Old Tavern Road/The Plains.
After taking the exit, take a right and go straight. When you dead end in the town of The Plains, take a left onto Route 55/John Marshall Highway. Go ½ mile to Boxwood Cottage which is on the left with a low stone wall in front.
